Deputy Requirements: Deputy applicants must be 21 years old, in excellent physical condition, a US citizen, possess or be able to possess a valid Idaho State driver's license, and have a high school diploma or equivalency.

Testing Requirements
All candidates will be required to successfully complete a written application, oral board interviews, a background investigation, and a polygraph.
Deputy Candidates will also be required to successfully complete physical fitness testing, a written basic skills test, and medical, vision, and hearing testing. Physical Readiness Test Information Sheet
Control Applicants are also required to pass computer skills, polygraph, hearing, and vision testing.
Out-of-State applicants should plan on a 2-3 day scheduled visit for testing and interviews.

How to Apply
- APPLY: Your first step towards employment is to complete and submit Step 1 - the Personal History Questionnaire of our Application. Click on the link above. In Step 2, you will be required to upload and submit certain required documents to verify your eligibility.
- REVIEW: All applications will be reviewed for eligibility. Applicants will be selected for testing and interviews.
- POSITION TESTING:
- DEPUTY TESTING: Applicants for certified deputy positions must pass a Written Basic Skills Test and Physical Readiness Test.
- CONTROL OPERATOR TESTING: Applicants for Control or Administrative positions must pass a Computer Skills Test.
- INTERVIEWS: Applicants must pass Oral Board and Background Interviews.
- CONDITIONAL OFFER: If you are selected as a finalist a Conditional Offer may be made. Depending on the position the Conditional Offer may include medical, hearing, sight, and a polygraph examination.
- BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: All applicants must pass a thorough background investigation.
- OFFER: A formal job offer will be made to those individuals selected for employment.
