On Monday, September 27, 2021, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Blaine County Sheriff deputies responded to a motor vehicle versus cow collision on U.S. Highway 20 at milepost 179, approximately one mile east of the State Highway 75 intersection.
Crash scene investigation determined that Arthur Francis Callery, age 70 of Picabo, Idaho, was driving a silver 2002 Audi A6 traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 20 with a passenger, Carla Ann Koeplin, age 57 of Bellevue, Idaho.
Callery collided with a black cow standing in the middle of the eastbound lane, causing significant vehicle damage, and injuring his passenger. Koeplin was transported to Wood River Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Audi was towed from the scene. The cow was released to its owner. Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.
